Robotics and Engineering sessions
We offer a range of robotics and engineering school holiday sessions for primary, secondary, and university students. We also provide training sessions for teachers! we want to enable to teachers! Below is the outline of some of our main offerings. We can modify our offering to suit different needs as well.
Process of Engineering
As engineers, there is a specific process that we follow in order to approach and solve problems. The process and mindset are what makes someone an engineer. We have created a session where the students explore the process of engineering in a fun and engaging way.
Exploring 3D printing
Some say that 3D printing will be the next industrial revolution! At Robotics Playground we think that 3D printing an awesome way to learn while having fun! The ability to create anything the mind can think of is amazing but it can also make it really hard to learn without structure. This is where we come in and help.
(Get in touch with us if you want any 3D printer recommendations!)
To be an effective problem solver one must use both their critical thinking and creative thinking. Creative thinking is often over looked when it comes to STEM education. Our 3D design session is the perfect balance between the two worlds. 3D design can be an extremely artistic process and it can also be an extremely precise process.
(We primarily use Fusion 360 and TinkerCAD for teaching 3D design)
At Robotics Playground, we want to use robotics as a tool to educate different topics. We have created teaching content for a physics lesson on temperature using our Micro:Bits robots. We have taught math using Golfing robots built out of LEGO Mindstorm EV3s. Music classes using the Makey Makey.
(For any teachers that are interested in these lessons please get in touch with us.)
